Electric field lines are graphical representations of the electric field at various points in space.
Electric field lines are drawn in such a way that at any point on the line, the direction of the line is equal to the direction of the electric field at that point. In other words the direction of the arrow is drawn in the direction a positively charged particle would travel if it was placed there.
